Maximum Overdrive 2

This Pico-8 game was built in a month for the PiCoSteveMo game jam. It is based on the film Maximum Overdrive, directed by Stephen King.

On June 19th, 1987, at 9:47 A.M. EST, the Earth passed into the extraordinarily diffuse tail of Rhea-M, a rogue comet.

Then we left the tail and everything was fine.

On November 30th, 2023, self-driving taxis decided to pave the entire Earth to maximize fare revenue.

You and your family were born in the endless underground rooms, roads and tunnels the machines created. if the surface still exists, you've never seen it. you've spent your entire life hiding from trucks and Roombas, foraging for the bananas that the machines are afraid to touch.

Now it's time to keep doing that.
